Runnin With the Devil

So its been awhile since I last posted on here I see. This year I have decided to train for a marathon. My friend and I are going to be running in the SF marathon in July.

Its going quite well, this week we are going for 6 miles. Only 20 to go after this week! We are planning to add a mile a week so that by the time the marathon comes along we can do it.

Everyday I am either out running the pavement or on my tredmill. The tredmill run has been pretty good. I thought I would be bored with it, however being that I throw in a dvd to watch while running it does make it better. So far I am finding AFI's "I Heard A Voice" dvd has been the best to run to.....hmmm could it be the songs, or the eye candy? I think its a bit of both actually.......

Are we actually planning to win this race? But of course! I can just see the headlines: First time marathon chicks win SF Marathon beating out Kenya boy.......(I heard he runs bare foot, note to self, make sure to have tacks in pocket, maybe they will mysteriously come out of pocket and on to path in front of him.....hmmmmmm, how did that happen????) Thats cheating you say? Never!!!

4 Life

So while at the gym the other day, this older lady (lets say 65) came up to me while I was in the locker room putting on my makeup....she says, "wow, I was watching you workout. that was sure a workout. Are you training for something in particular?" She stood there looking at me all beeming (like I was her child). "uh, just in training for life." I said to her.
She just looked at me like she didn't understand. "you workout that hard just for yourself?" she said.
"uh, yeah." I said.
"oh. " She said. Her beeming face being replaced by a blank stare.
So I found this quite odd, that to workout intensly for a marathon, an ass kicking tournament, a bitch slapping event, the olympics, or what ever it is that calls for training intensly is a good thing and will have older ladies looking at me proudly as if I am there daughter. But to workout intensly so I will have better health, gets an odd look. I didn't have a response for her. I just turned back to the mirror. On got my glamour on.

Wicked Lovely

So this is the first book in a long time that I have read in just 3 days. After purchasing I did realize it was a Teenharper book, meaning it is more for teens, but what the hell it looked good so whatever. If you like books about fairies and things of the harry potter nature, then you would dig this book too. Yeah there were times when reading that it did seem rather teen like, but I got over it. I am now looking out for her next book called Ink Exchange which is a continuation of the Fairie story. So read on my fellow fairie lovers read on!!!

Obsession of the Week

It's official. I am obsessed with exercise. I cannot stop thinking about exercising, reading about exercising, or just in general exercising. You would think that with all this amount of obsession I would be as thin as a rail....but so not true.

I have dropped down another dress size, but the weight is not melting off of me. I may go and ask this one chick at the gym who does metobolic testing if she could test me. It then gives you a list of things that are best foods for your metobolism....although the thought of eating broccoli and brussel sprouts are so not appealing.

I have changed my eating habits dramatically however, where I don't consume mass quantites of sugar nor am I eating processed foods. I have been making all my meals, as well as only buying organic food. This has been an expensive transition. No wonder we are such a fat society as all the cheap foods are bad for you.

However, I am determined this year to be super fit. I did go climbing the other week and was quite impressed with my stamina a strength after going to the gym and working out with a trainer. It has so made such a difference.

I purchased a weighted vest the other week too and when I walk the dogs I wear a 10 pound vest. It goes up to 20 pounds, but at the moment walking for about a mile (which on the way back is up hill) with a weighted vest is kinda tiring, so the 20 pounds will come later I am sure.

I realized I used to be this obsessed with exercising 20 years ago. That would make sense why I was an aerobic instructor back then.

And to add to my obsession I am going to L.A. this weekend, and I made sure the hotel I am staying at had a nice gym.....yeah, I even paid extra so there was a nice gym.... I think I am turning psycho....oh yeah, I already am. Thats ok then.
