Beauty School Drop In

Well, here's a big shocker, my boss is back to being a freak....I just agreed with everything she said...and it seemed to passify her...whatever...

Anyway...I went to the school I want to enroll in yesterday to get more facts about it..and it is actually going to be way easier than I thought!! I only need to go 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, and I can have my license in 8 months!! And I can also break up that 4 hours into 2 hour sessions, I can go in the morning, and also in the evening...so that would be cool, as I could go before work for 2 hours, then after work for 2 more hours...and on my so called "office" days I could pack as many hours into them as I could...so I now just have to talk it over with Satan again, to make sure we can do this financially, as it is going to cost $7100...however, if I pay in full they knock $1000 off...so that is an incentive!!

This is all I have been thinking about today, and not doing my so called "office day" work...however, I have been able to semi blog, as the parental units are outside in the garden today as it is not blistering hot like it has been for the last week.....

Now do I tell my bipolar boss that I am enrolling in school, I probably should, and I also remember hearing from when I went to new hire training that they pay for classes...I believe it is after you graduate, but still it would be nice to get a refund...must look into this...will look into that before telling boss, because if they do pay for school, than she cannot have any objections if corporate allows us to go to school...fuck it..why do I need a freaking boss' approval anyway...try and fire me...I will just go and collect unemployment, then I could go to school full time and graduate sooner....hmmmmm,,,,,,evil thoughts going through mind........

Be Careful. Many employers pay for school but require you to stay with them for a while. It worked for a couple of friends b/c they were laid off after finishing school but before their contractual obligations, and they were able to come out on top, but it would suck if you were stuck there.

I have never regretted going to school. I think that's exciting and I hope you go for it!! But here's another tip - some of my friends have had problems getting unemployment because they were going to school....so don't tell them!!

I think you should go to school. If they pay for it, all the better. But no matter what I think you should pursue what you want to do! You will be soooo good at it too!

BTW, Hilary is evil - fed me delicious chocolate italian tasty things last night! And I had been good all day!

Oh, the S&M quality to that comment Liz....anyway, good for you my darling Vamp. Glad you're going to go for it. If I can do it at age 100, you can at 96. Yay!

OMG! When I first read I was thinking the school was down in SF and thinking HOW could you drive that far everyday, but it must be up towards you, huh? Or you're just crazy to drive down everyday!! :) Good luck !!

Yeah, Bun's right. That's why I never took anyone up on it.

They all wanted my degree to be "applicable."

How the fuck do you apply a Literature degree to anything???

I'm considering going the route of cosmetology school...hair and makeup and, well, oh my!

Hrm. Yeah, Disney (i.e. "Dismal") would only pay for
courses that were "relevent". F--- that, do they want
you to continue to look that good, or don't they...? ;)

BEWARE THE EVIL EDD. Only tell them what you absolutely
have to. I told them too much and it f---ed me out of
my unemployment when my friends in the exact same situation
got it. Do not volunteer any more than is necessary. "Yes",
"no", "I got laid off", "I got fired", etc.

Blessed be! :)
